For my wife, Annette, coffee is more than a drink—it’s a ritual. Measuring, grinding, heating, pouring, and waiting all come together to create a moment of calm and joy most mornings.
Our sons, Charlie and Harvey, enjoy helping make “Mom’s coffee.” Harvey, who has dyslexia, especially thrives in this daily routine. The repetition and structure give him confidence, and he takes pride in brewing a cup that Mom says is perfect.
I come from a small business family. My grandfather started a company that my father later ran. I have vivid memories of tagging along to work—helping in the office, warehouse, or wherever a job needed doing. Some tasks were practical, some were just creative ways to stay busy. Working with and watching my grandpa and dad taught me the value of hard work, responsibility, and genuine care for people.
With Jumbled Coffee, we hope to pass on those same lessons to our boys—teaching them about business, people, and life. At the same time, we’re combining two things that mean the world to us: great coffee and dyslexia awareness.
Our mission is simple: to serve high-quality, small-batch coffee while sparking more understanding, empathy, and support for those with dyslexia and other learning difficulties.
